Report: Ukraine can suspend gas imports on lack of funds
KIEV, Jun 26 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy may suspend gas imports for its underground storages due to the lack of financing, CEO Andrei Kobolev said, as cited by newswire UNN on Wednesday.
“If we do not find a solution to the financial issue in the coming month, we will stop imports for Naftogaz already in August. This means that we must find money in July in order to pay for gas fully in August,” Kobolev said.
Ukraine ceased gas purchases from Russia in November 2015. The current supply and transit contracts between Russia and Ukraine expire at the end of 2019.
